| Editor's note: The Marquette Office of the DEQ Waste Management Division said on Wednesday, Oct. 24, that they had received only about four letters of comment, although the Lansing office may have received additional letters. One letter was from the State Historic Preservation Office expressing concern about the archaeological site in the area of the proposed waste treatment site. DEQ officials do not at this time expect to hold a public hearing. Watch for a story on this soon. See the Oct. 2, 2001 article,
"DEQ to accept public comments on proposed Mt. Bohemia septic system," for background on this issue. |
