Addendem: Letter about the Mouth of the Gratiot River
Please contact your township supervisor, county commissioner, KC Chairman Frank Stubenrauch, State Rep. Rich
Brown and Congressman Bart Stupak and urge them to refuse to accept this easement/bridge as part of the Mouth of the Gratiot River County Park purchase.
IP contact information:
International Paper
400 Atlantic Street
Stamford, CT 06921
(203) 541-8000
www.internationalpaper.com
comm@ipaper.com is IP's generic e-mail address.
IP also has an "ethics hotline" e-mail: ethics@ipaper.com.
Suggestion: Calling John Dillon's office regarding "Mouth of the Gratiot in Keweenaw County, MI," writing the Board of Directors and sending a lot of e-mails.
(The Board members will get mail at the IP corporate office.)
Following is the list of IP's Board:
- John T. Dillon, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, International Paper
- Robert J. Eaton, Retired Chairman of the Board, Daimler Chrysler AG
- Samir G. Gibara, Chairman, CEO and President, The Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company
- James A. Henderson, Retired Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, Cummins Engine Co., Inc.
- John R. Kennedy, Retired Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, Federal Paper Board
- Robert Kennedy, Retired Chairman and CEO, Union Carbide Corporation
- W. Craig McClelland, Retired Chairman and CEO, Union Camp Corporation
- Donald F. McHenry, University Research Professor of Diplomacy and International Affairs, Georgetown University
- Patrick F. Noonan, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, The Conservation Fund
- Jane C. Pfeiffer, Management Consultant
- Jeremiah J. Sheehan, Retired Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Reynolds Metals Company
- Charles R. Shoemate, Retired Chairman, President and Chief Executive Officer, Bestfoods
- C. Wesley Smith, Excecutive Vice President - Operations, International Paper
In addition you may want to write George O'Brien, who is the President of the Lake Superior Land Company Subsidiary.
- George A. O'Brien, Senior Vice President - Forest Resources
It appears the local representatives at IP are unwavering in their position that the mouth comes with an easement, or not at all, regardless of what the public or even elected representatives think, and regardless of the immediate and long-term dollar and public access costs.
Perhaps the only way to get the easement withdrawn is for the order to come from above, from International Paper. In addition to emailing and calling the IP Board (individually) and CEO (contact info sent previously by GN), please contact your Township Supervisor, County
Commissioner Frank Stubenrauch, and the following:
