Stupak to hold town meetings
WASHINGTON -- Rep. Bart Stupak, D-Menominee, will hold town meetings in
Ironwood, Ontonagon and Marquette during the week of Feb. 18.
Constituents in the Ironwood area are invited to meet with Stupak on Tuesday,
Feb. 19, between 5:30 p.m. and 7 p.m. CST in the courtside dining area of the
Lindquist Student Center, Gogebic Community College, E4946 Jackson Rd.
The Ontonagon meeting will be held Wednesday, Feb. 20, from 5:30 p.m. to 6:30
p.m. EST in the village council room of the Ontonagon Village Hall, 315 Quartz
St.
The Marquette area meeting will be held on Thursday, Feb. 21, in the
Marquette Township Hall, 161 County Road 492, and will run from 5:30 p.m. to
6:30 p.m. EST.
"Our nation begins 2002 facing a number of challenges, and town meetings
are one of the most important ways for me to keep abreast of the thinking and
concerns of the people of the 1st Congressional District," Stupak said.
"I encourage everyone in the area to attend these meetings."
Stupak in 2002 has already held town meetings in Newberry, Alpena, Traverse
City and Petoskey.
