Liberty Library back on line, now with PastyNet

CALUMET -- After a brief absence, the Keweenaw Liberty Library is back on line,
now hosted by local Internet provider PastyNet. Webmaster Charles Buck recently
uploaded the site with its very useful documents on Keweenaw County and all five
Keweenaw County townships, including budgets, Keweenaw Land Use Planning
documents and maps and various permit applications. Check out the Liberty
Library at its new Web address: http://www.keweenawll.com/.
Calumet awarded Michigan Main Street Program

 LANSING -- Representative Rich Brown (D- Bessemer) announced on Thursday,
June 19, that the Village of Calumet and Calumet Township have been selected to participate in the Michigan Main Street
Program, a downtown revitalization program administered by the Michigan Economic Development Corporation
(MEDC). Brown said the program can help insure the survival of vacant or
underutilized historic buildings. Keweenaw National Historical Park partnered
with local municipal government and Calumet's Downtown Development Authority in
applying for the program. more
