Skiers needed to brush Swedetown Trails October 20, 2001

CALUMET – Cross country skiers and their families are invited to help with brushing at Swedetown Trails in Calumet Saturday, Oct. 20. Meet at the Swedetown chalet at 9 a.m. Volunteers will work on parts of the Green trail, the Red Swamp, the Bearchase Trail and other areas as time permits. Work will include widening the trails and stopping the brush from leaning over into the path.

Please bring gloves, boots (maybe even tall rubber boots for the red swamp) and warm clothes. Also bring a pair of long handled loppers if you have them; otherwise the club has some available. At about 1:30 or so, volunteers are invited to head back to the chalet for a lunch provided by the Copper Island Cross Country Ski Club.

Now is your chance to get involved, have fun and see Swedetown in its fall colors. Help complete the great work begun last week by AmeriCorps volunteers and make Swedetown your own!
