PUBLIC NOTICE

Date: January 8, 2002

The Michigan Department of Environmental Quality proposes to issue an authorization for a discharge to the ground or groundwater pursuant to Part 31, Water Resources Protection, of the Natural Resources and environmental Protection Act, 1994 PA 451, as amended (Act 451), being Sections 324.31201 through 324.3119 of the Compiled Laws of Michigan, and the administrative rules promulgated thereunder, to:

The applicant proposes to discharge a maximum 8,500 gallons (845,000 gallons per year) of sanitary wastewater only to the ground and groundwater from their discharge area located in the SW 1/4 of Section 33, T58N, R29W, Grant Township, Keweenaw County.

Comments or objections to the proposed authorization received by February 6, 2002 will be considered in the final decision to grant the permit.
