Volunteers to clean up MTU's Princess Point and hillside May 6
HOUGHTON -- The Fourth Annual Princess Point and Hillside Clean-Up is
scheduled to take place from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Monday, May 6. A rain date is
scheduled for the same time on Wednesday, May 8. Volunteers will clean the area
between Cliff Drive (along the Portage side of Michigan Tech) and Portage Lake
from the Minerals and Materials Engineering Building south to the end of lot 10
(the unpaved lot at the south end of campus) and from there just the Waterfront
Path south to Isle Royale Sands.

Michigan Tech Facilities Management will provide empty trash bags at Princess
Point at 9:30 a.m.; volunteers can begin anytime thereafter.
At 3:30, Facilities Management will pick up full bags left along Cliff Drive,
the old railroad bed and the Water Front Trail. The annual clean-up is organized
by the Michigan Tech Department of Humanities; other groups and individuals are
encouraged to participate. If you're able to help with this project, please
dress appropriately (e.g., bring work gloves, sturdy shoes or boots, sunscreen,
etc.).
