Eagle Harbor Township Board to meet Feb. 11

EAGLE HARBOR -- The Eagle Harbor Township Board will meet at 7 p.m. Monday, Feb. 11, in the Eagle Harbor Township Hall. The supervisor's reports include equalization ratios, progress of grant applications, new grant projects and land use planning. The agenda also includes discussion of amendments to the Township Land Division Ordinance, "Junk Jettison Day," and ballot proposals for Keweenaw County. See the agenda. "Ski for Heart" at Swedetown will aid Omega House, Boathouse project

CALUMET -- "Ski for Heart," a cross-country ski event at Swedetown Trails on Saturday, Feb. 9, will raise funds for the Omega House hospice and the Boathouse Project to offer opportunities for silent water sports such as canoeing, kayaking and rowing. Guest author Sandra Harting will represent Keweenaw Now in the four-hour ski from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Participants may still register at 9:30 a.m. at the Swedetown Chalet. Tax deductible contributions can be made to "Ski for the Heart of Our Community." For more information call 482-8201 or 337-7000.
