Keweenaw Krayons offers percussion workshop Nov. 29

MOHAWK -- Drumweaver Len Novak will share an exploration of percussion instruments from 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 29, at the Ramblin' Rose Arts Center in Mohawk. Michigan Tech to observe World AIDS Day Nov. 30

HOUGHTON--The fourteenth annual World AIDS Day will be observed around the world on Saturday, Dec. 1, 2001, and at Michigan Tech on Friday, Nov. 30, 2001. Locally, the events for World AIDS Day will take place at the Memorial Union Building and Fisher Hall on the MTU campus from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. as coordinated by the MTU AIDS Task Force. Free literature and ribbons will be distributed. more 

Peace Alliance to show video on School of Americas

HANCOCK -- A video and discussion of a presentation by Jack Nelson-Pallmeyer, author of The School of Assassins: Guns, Greed, and Globalization, will be shown at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, November 28, at the Little Brothers new office building in Hancock. The Copper Country Peace Alliance is sponsoring the event, which is free and open to the public. more

HOUGHTON -- The Fourth Annual Home for the Holidays Gift Market will take place from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 24, in the Lobby of the Rozsa Center for the Performing Arts on the Michigan Tech Campus. Regional artists, merchants and nonprofit organizations will offer the best of their festive handicrafts for holiday shoppers. more
