NMU to host Global Issues Week Mar. 22-27
MARQUETTE -- Northern Michigan University will host its fourth annual Global Issues Week Monday, March 22 - Saturday, March 27, at the Don H. Bottum University Center in Marquette. The week's events will include presentations, workshops, discussions and films dealing with various issues of global importance, culminating in Saturday's benefit concert.
Global Issues Week is free and open to both students and community members, with the exception of Saturday's concert, which will require a $5 minimum donation.
Events will feature both local and out-of-state organizations. A variety of topics will be covered, including militarization, poverty, globalization and environmental concerns. Presenters will focus on what can be done to help on both a global and
a local level.
Global Issues Week is sponsored by a variety of student organizations, such as United Students, Spanish Club, Outlook, NASA, VOX, ESO, OORP and ASNMU. Below is the evening and Saturday schedule of events:
