Keweenaw Krayons at the Ramblin' Rose Gallery in Mohawk offers Art
Classes and a variety of activities. The public is invited to participate in Keweenaw Krayons' pARTners Project
continuing through the Labor Day weekend. This includes a beaver sculpture, complete with habitat, which is being built in the Gabriel Chopp Park in Ahmeek, and a bear mural currently being painted on the "Old Barbershop/New Community Building," located next to the Allouez Township Park in Mohawk. Also being built are two handicapped-accessible raised beds. One will be placed in front of the Mohawk Community Building and the other will be located in the Gabriel Chopp Park in Ahmeek. Designed so a wheel chair can roll under them, stools will also be available for gardeners.
According to Keweenaw Krayons Director, Carol Rose, "There are many elderly in the area who can no longer get down to plant and weed, but would still enjoy a 'garden experience.' These beds will provide that opportunity."Visit the Keweenaw Krayons Web site
for details.
