Keweenaw Heritage Center (formerly St. Anne's Church), Calumet. Summer 2003 exhibit highlighting architecture of company houses -- housing built by the mining companies for their workers. Exhibit hours: 1 p.m. to 4:30 p.m., every day until Labor Day.

Reclaimed Quilts and Charm Dolls. Leslee Nelson. Through August 28. The Finnish American Heritage Center Gallery. 601 Quincy Street. Hancock. Mon. - Fri., 9 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. 487-7376. Opening reception 7 p.m. - 9 p.m., Thurs, July 17, in the Gallery. The reception is free and open to the public. Nelson's work transforms abandoned quilt blocks, fabric pieces and lace fragments long treasured but never utilized into powerful art pieces that explore the themes of ancestry, womanhood, healing and creative expression.
