The work of Linden Dahlstrom. The Copper Country Associated Artists exhibits window display. 307  6th St., Calumet. Through February.

“Pathways." An exhibition of new work by Phyllis Fredendall. Kerredge Gallery. Community Arts Center, Hancock, through 2/28. The work depicts maps of animal and human foot-paths on the islands of Isle Royale.  Fredendall was chosen for the Isle Royale Artist in Residence program from among 170 applicants for the summer of 2002. The artist worked from sketches, which were then felted from wool and silk fibers. This exhibit is made possible by a grant from the Michigan Council for Arts and Cultural Affairs with funding from the National Endowment for the Arts. Gallery hours are Tues. - Fri.,  10 a.m. - 6 p.m. and Sat. 10 a.m. - 4 p.m. For more information call 482 - 2333.

Student work from Hancock High School. Youth Gallery: Community Arts Center, Hancock.  Tuesday through Friday 10 a.m. - 6 p.m.  and Saturday 10 a.m. - 4 p.m.

"A Child's Mind." Omphale Gallery. Through 2/28. The event features art from the CLK schools along with selected area children's art. Omphale is a not for profit venue supported by the community. Open hours: Mon., Wed. Fri., 10 a.m. - 4 p.m., Sat., noon - 4 p.m., or by appointment: (906) 337-1522 or juliedj@chartermi.net.

Keweenaw Krayons at the Ramblin' Rose Gallery in Mohawk offers After School Hours where youth (and parents if they'd like) can come do art, homework, or just visit with their friends:Mondays, 3:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. with Carol Rose; Tuesdays, 3:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. with Len Novak; Thursdays,  5:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. (after 4H) with Adria Simpson; Fridays 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Art with Audrey (Chamberlain).

Keweenaw Krayons special events: Monday, Feb 17 - 6 p.m. - Ahmeek and Mohawk Community Garden and Sculpture. Grant Writing Get Together - Ahmeek Village Hall. For more information call Keweenaw Krayons at 337-4706. Thursday, Feb 20: Come learn the ancient art of Mehndi (body painting with henna) with Abby Weglarz . Just drop in between 5:30 p.m. and 8:30 p.m. -- no charge. Parental permission is necessary for youth to apply the henna (which washes off in about 2 to 3 weeks) to their hands, etc.
