Wed. 2/12, 4:30 p.m. - 6:30 p.m. Open Mic poetry reading. Part of
a nation-wide day of anti-war poetry. Participants may read their own work or
share a favorite poem they feel is appropriate. Anyone interested in bringing
visual representations expressing their protest against this war is welcome to
do so. An overhead projector will be available for displaying transparencies.
The format will be informal, and people are invited to come for all or part of

Little Gem Theater. A delightful movie about a community of Tibetan Monks
obsessed with World Cup soccer. The movie's director is from Bhutan, and the
film was shot in India. Proceeding the movie, Kim and Greg Green will show a few
slides from their trip to Northern India and the region where this film was

Tribute to Fats Waller. A musical tribute presented by national touring group
Downstairs Cabaret Theatre. The outrageously prodigious comic and musical soul
of the 1930s Harlem comes alive in this rollicking, swinging, finger-snapping
revue that is still considered one of Broadway's very best. Featuring
songs such as "Ain’t Misbehavin’," "Honeysuckle
Rose," "The Joint is Jumpin’" and "I’m
Gonna Sit Right Down and Write Myself a Letter," Ain’t Misbehavin’ is
one of the most popular, well-crafted revues of all time. It received a Tony
Award for the Best Musical.

Sat. 3/1. "Continued diplomacy as the path to peace in Iraq" will be the theme of the Walk for Peace,
starting at noon from the Motherlode Coffeehouse in Houghton. Sponsored by the Copper Country Peace Alliance, the Walk is one way for local citizens to demonstrate their support for a non-violent, diplomatic solution to the conflict between the U.S. and Iraqi governments.
