should arrive at 1:30 p.m. Ski Tigers introduces young people, ages 5 through
17, to the lifelong sport of cross-country skiing. The program stresses
recreational, social and fitness opportunities in a family atmosphere. More
experienced skiers also have the option to compete in area races. For more

for young one-man exhibit by John Leinonen, a 5th grade student at Calumet Elementary School.
Republic Youth Art Gallery, Community Arts Center, Hancock. The exhibit, titled “Leinonen
Art,” on display through November, includes portraits of the artist’s family. A larger-than-life-size pencil drawing depicting a miner was on display at the recent celebration for the Keweenaw National Historical Park.
Gallery hours are Tuesday-Friday, 10 a.m. - 6 p.m., and Saturday, 10 a.m. - 4
p.m.
