Lynn Torkelson is the CFO and technical director of SoftMedia Artisans, Inc., a company he founded in Atlanta in 1997 with his wife, Constance Petersen. His great-grandparents met and married in Pequaming, and Lynn grew up on the shores of Lake Superior in northern Wisconsin. In January of 1999 he returned with his family and his company to the Lake Superior area he loves.

Having worked in the software industry since graduating from college, Lynn got in on the ground floor of personal computing in 1978. This allowed him to remain an active programmer even after receiving several promotions in corporate management. After leaving the corporate world, Lynn worked as an independent software developer before the founding of SoftMedia Artisans, Inc. He is lead author of the book Programming the Web with Visual Basic .NET, Link to another Web site. Apress, July 2002, ISBN 1590590279.
