About Our Authors
Constance Petersen is the CEO and creative director of SoftMedia Artisans,
Inc., a company she founded in Atlanta in 1997 with her husband, Lynn
Torkelson.
A Wisconsin native, she grew up near Lake Michigan--in Door County during the
summers and in Racine the rest of the year. In January of 1999 she returned with
her family and her company to the Great Lakes region of her youth.
A mathematician by training, Constance became a computer programmer shortly
after graduating from college. Over the years she specialized in software design
and usability. An award-winning photographer, Constance's talents also extend to
technical writing. Her often-quoted articles have appeared in many respected
technical magazines and journals, and she has co-authored two highly-regarded
books on the Visual Basic programming language including the recent Programming
the Web with Visual Basic .NET,
Apress, July 2002, ISBN 1590590279.
Constance designed the KeweenawNow Web site, which is showcased
in her company's portfolio.
She also assists the
editor with technical questions and, on those occasions when a tidal wave of
other work threatens to drown the editor, helps to update the content.
For more information about Constance, read her autobiography
on the Smartisans.com Web site.
