About Our Authors
Michele Anderson, editor and publisher of Keweenaw Now, is the former editor of the Web site,
Keweenaw Today.
Her journalistic writing has also appeared in Superior Vision (newsletter of the Lake Superior Alliance), The
Daily Mining Gazette, the Milwaukee Journal and the Green Bay Press
Gazette. Michele is a Returned Peace Corps Volunteer (Nigeria) and has an extensive teaching background
-- including experience in Micronesia, Turkey and various parts of the United States. She has also done research and written academic articles on women writers and filmmakers from Quebec, English Canada, Spain and Africa.
She has a Ph.D. in French Literature and presently teaches part-time in the Humanities Department at Michigan
Technological University.

Michele lived in Hancock, Michigan, from 1976 to 1988 and returned to the Keweenaw Peninsula in 1999 because of her love for Lake Superior and cross-country skiing.
