Help TNC acquire Bete Grise South

Updated 05/13/2003

LAC
LA BELLE -- Guest author Gina Nicholas, Grant Township resident and a member of the South Shore Association, urges readers to support The Nature Conservancy's efforts to purchase 1,100 acres of wetland and Lake Superior shoreline at Bete Grise South for habitat protection, non-invasive public access, research and education. Now that Lake Superior Land Co./International Paper has received a permit for building an access road and bridge, the area could be sold for residential development unless TNC can soon raise $100,000 towards the $1.5 million purchase price.
