Guest writer Alexis Levine is a Copper Country resident. She is pleased to post her first article for
Keweenaw Now on March 4, 2003. She doesn't often wear broaches and pearls, but when she does, she often has cookies with her. If you are quite nice and polite, she may even offer you one.
Alexis also writes for Michigan Tech's Technobabe Times. Her article
and poem, "Dissent Heard and Heeded," is reprinted from Technobabe
Times, Vol. 5, no. 4: February 2003. It is re-published in Keweenaw

HOUGHTON -- Guest writer Alexis Levine describes how she and two cohorts,

mockery of Mt. Bohemia's January 2003 bikini contest, which the young women
found degrading.
