About This Web Site

Why We're Here

Keweenaw Now is intended to be a community Web site including news of happenings in the Keweenaw Peninsula. We are especially interested in issues affecting the quality of life -- now and for future generations -- in this area and in the Lake Superior watershed. Keweenaw Now expresses deep appreciation to Still Waters Assisted Living in Calumet for initially hosting our Web site through their PastyNET Web Hosting Service Grant Program from October 2001 to June 2004 and to Constance Petersen, CEO of SoftMedia Artisans, Inc., for designing this Web site as a community service and for presently hosting the site.

Just as Still Waters and Constance have offered their technical and artistic skills to make Keweenaw Now a reality, we invite readers to offer the community their views on local issues and on topics of general interest. We welcome submissions of guest columns articles, letters and photos. Individuals and community organizations are also invited to submit upcoming public events for our monthly Happenings calendar.

For information on how to submit your writing, announcements and photos to Keweenaw Now, read how you can help.
